Residential architecture in Jeddah’s expanding northern corridor often defaults to generic concrete extrusion. RR Villa, situated in the Obhur district, rejects this passive approach. The project introduces a rigorous geometric framework that balances the demand for domestic privacy with the desire for expansive, panoramic engagement with the surrounding landscape.
The primary architectural vocabulary draws upon the functionalist principles of Bauhaus, subjected to a contemporary adaptation suited for the Saudi climate. By employing strict mathematical and logarithmic proportions, the massing avoids arbitrary ornamentation. Instead, visual diversity is achieved through the structural articulation of columns and a curated intersection of raw materials, notably the integration of natural wood against clean monolithic planes.

Occupying a plot exceeding 770 square meters with a primary northwestern orientation, the villa is sited to capture the prevailing Red Sea breezes inherent to the Obhur region. The spatial layout dissolves the traditional rigid boundary between interior and exterior. Large, calibrated glass surfaces promote the penetration of natural daylight while establishing a continuous visual axis toward the central courtyard, where a bespoke waterfall acts as a focal acoustic and thermal anchor.

A critical parameter of the commission was economic efficiency without compromising structural or aesthetic integrity. This was resolved through a highly controlled material palette. The strategic selection of architectural finishes was directly aligned with both the geometric purity of the design and the overarching budget, proving that high-level architectural refinement is a product of intelligent spatial planning rather than sheer material expense.
RR Villa operates as a critique of the prevailing residential typologies in Jeddah. It demonstrates that the modern villa can transcend the constraints of standard municipal building practices. By prioritizing structural logic, environmental orientation, and disciplined material use, the residence provides a sustainable, high-quality domestic framework. The execution of this rigorous geometry is driven by the collaborative expertise of the inj-architects-team. Parallel explorations of contemporary domestic architecture and spatial fluidity can be found in the office’s related residential projects, such as the NNL Villa and the AMA Infinity Villa.
