Ibrahim Nawaf Joharji Honored for His Role in the Indonesian Hajj Affairs Building in Jeddah
Architect Ibrahim Nawaf Joharji, lead architect and consultant for the project, was formally honored with a certificate of appreciation and commemorative plaque presented by Dr. Mohammed Ilham, Indonesian Consul for Hajj Affairs, in recognition of his professional contribution to the design and development of the Indonesian Hajj Affairs Building in Jeddah.
During the meeting, Dr. Ilham highlighted the significance of the project, describing it as a historic milestone for Indonesia’s institutional presence in support of Hajj affairs abroad. The building is understood to be the first dedicated Indonesian Hajj Affairs facility established outside Indonesia and the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The project forms part of the Indonesian consular complex in Jeddah and has been developed to support the administrative, diplomatic, and operational functions associated with serving Indonesian pilgrims. Its location in Jeddah places it within one of the principal gateways for Indonesian pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom.

The recognition ceremony was attended by members of the Indonesian diplomatic and project team, including Consul Zakaria Nassar, Hashem Al-Abi, Project Coordinator, the financial director, and other Indonesian diplomatic representatives.
During the discussion, the Consul commended the work carried out throughout the development of the project and noted that the building represents more than a physical facility: it marks an important institutional chapter in Indonesia’s long-standing commitment to serving its pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The recognition acknowledges the role of Ibrahim Joharji and INJ Architects in translating the project’s diplomatic, operational, and cultural requirements into an architectural work intended to serve both institutional needs and the wider mission of Indonesian Hajj affairs in Jeddah.
